In 1984 Alvin Ratzlaff built his first harrow, a 48 ft. 5 bar. He built 10-20 harrows per year until
1989 when he sold his company to me, Garen Martens, founder of Martens Manufacturing. I had
10+ years of manufacturing experience in our family owned company, Waldon, Inc., building farm
two-implement hitches, tractor dozer blades, industrial wheel loaders, and forklifts.
After I bought the company, we went through a major redesign of the harrow and started
building our own harrow sections. We built the 5 bar harrows until 1996 when our 8 bar RF
harrow was introduced. In 2000, because of changing farming practices and changing
competition, we released our first flex harrow, a front folding all hydraulic 12 bar unit, our FF
Model. In 2002 we started building a second model frame, the HD model, to accommodate 16
bars. The designs we offer are super strong and trouble free. Every harrow built is assembled
and tested before it leaves the factory.
We have about 9,000 sq. ft. of building space built in 1994 with modern manufacturing
equipment. We generally employ about 8 - 10 people and crank out a lot of product for our size.
Harrows are our main product and we take great pains in offering the best design we can, then
constantly upgrading it to take care of any problems, make them stronger, and to make them
easier to build. We also believe in taking care of our customer by offering after sale service and
a three year warranty.
Our facility is located on the east edge of Fairview, OK, a cattle, farming, oil, and metals
manufacturing town of 3000. We have employees with a good work ethic and attention to detail
and quality.
