frame is all ¼” wall steel. The wings
are 6” square tubing. 1 ½” pivot pins
are featured on the main pivot and
wing corners for long life. Extra large
cylinders with single valve control
provide lifting and folding power
even in heavy residue. Cable lift is
automatic – no getting off the
tractor. The main hubs are 6 bolt,
3500# with 11L15 transport tires.
Wing tires are 12 ply no-puncture

The working end of a Martens Spike Tooth harrow is the tooth. Teeth are forge hardened for
long life and are diamond shaped so they cut through clods, straw and stalk residue,
manure, grasses. This cutting action helps break up the material into finer pieces so that it
can be spread evenly across the ground. This is important when trying to: 1. Make soil fine,
smooth, and firm for planting, 2. Spreading and breaking up residue - this should be done
when it is dry, preferably hot, and higher speeds of 7-10 mph. 3. Renovating and grooming
dormant alfalfa fields. This cutting action opens the soil, tears out small weeds, and
uncovers overwintering insects and eggs for fewer bug problems, 4. Spreading manure in
pastures so that it acts as a fertilizer instead of covering the ground and keeping grasses
from growing, 5. The narrow point of the tooth "cuts through", rather than "pulls out" the
desirable grasses and plants.
The Martens teeth are hardened on the wear point, but are softer metal near the threaded
end so if you strike a rock, the tooth will resist breakage. The threaded end of the tooth
allows you to remove the tooth for repair or replacement. Teeth last for tens of thousands
of acres use. Most harrow owners get 8 to 10 years use out of a set of teeth.

The wear surface of our flex link is 33% heavier than the nearest competitor. Unlike most flex
harrows, each flex part is replaceable without having to completely disassemble the section.
Our harrow pipes are thicker wall and heavier than other flex harrows. We have long lasting
6” diamond shaped teeth that are held to the pipe by locking nuts. The tooth spacing is 9”.
With the stagger of the bars, 16 teeth per foot of width are on the ground on the 12 bar
harrow. The harrow sections feature 2 pull heights to control residue or for clean tillage.
Tooth angles can be set at 40 or 20 degrees back from vertical for aggressiveness. No other
harrow manufacturer can compare with our section strength, weight, and residue flow-
through.
Minimum-till residue control!
